Hello dear artists!
Take a break this weekend and make some time for yourself!
Together with my artist friends we recorded short videos for you, as we were painting beautiful landscapes in our studios.
I was very happy to take a little break from faces and just enjoy the process, because landscapes are very forgiving and fun to paint.
As long as you use just three simple tips you will be able to create a lovely landscape. Those rules could be applied to all the subjects, including portraits, this why painting landscapes is always included in all the traditional ateliers and art academies, regardless what is your subject matter.
Tips to create beautiful artwork:
- Size: the farther the subject the smaller it is. Easy! right?
- Color: the closer the subject – the brighter the color. With the distance objects loose an intensity of their colors and became dull
- Edges: the closer the edge to the viewer the sharper it is; the farther the edge the softer it is, until it completely disappears (lost edges).
* Extra tip for painting clouds: The lower the clouds to the horizon line – the smaller they are (it is actually opposite from how the objects look like under horizon line 🙂 )
Once you master the rules – now you can break them! And remember, art is not math and the final result is not a goal. The creative process what is really matters.
Now watch the videos and I hope you will give it a try!
Join the fun! Create a landscape and share in my FB group HERE for love and support. We will choose a few paintings and feature them on our Heartful Soul AC social media accounts.
