Hello dear friend and welcome to Weekend Challenges!

This project is brought to you by Renata Loree, Annie Hamman and Olga Furman.

We are planning a series of short challenges and hope you can fit some of them into your schedule. First challenge is 3 weeks.

The purpose of this challenge is inspiration and exercise. The goal is to draw/paint as close to the reference as possible.

You can work from provided image once a week, or as many times as you wish as long as it is from the same reference. You are welcome to use any art supplies.

We suggest to set up a time limit for each exercise, from a few minutes up to an hour, but not longer then an hour.

Art supplies used:

Strathmore  Charcoal paper laid finish, 300 series.

It is a fancy warm white paper with a lovely texture and suites for a finished artwork. For exercise purpose I would suggest to use Newsprint, which is texture and color wise is a great paper for charcoal, and it is very affordable.

Conte crayons, charcoal stick and pencil
Tortillon/Stump for blending, kneaded eraser, piece of cotton cloth, paper towel
